The idea here was to show off how traditional ethnic patterns can look totally at home in a modern fashion setting. It’s all about bridging the gap between old-school craftsmanship and a contemporary, “bold minimalist” aesthetic. We took the shoot outdoors to keep the lighting natural and airy, letting the texture of the fabric and the model’s natural poise do most of the talking.
The main trick was making sure the busy patterns of the dress didn’t get lost or look cluttered against the outdoor backdrop. In the black-and-white shot, the challenge was keeping the dark fabric from blending into the shadows while still hitting those clean highlights. For the color shot, it was a balancing act to get the focus tack-sharp on the intricate stitching and gold details while keeping the rest of the frame soft and dreamlike.
The goal was to create something that felt both authentic and high-end, stripping away the extra noise to focus on the “colorful minimalism” of the design. We wanted to see how these traditional elements could be re-imagined for a modern brand story. By using a mix of monochrome and color, the aim was to show two sides of the same coin: one version that’s all about form and light, and another that’s a total celebration of vibrant cultural detail.
The result is a set of images that feel timeless but very “now.” The black-and-white portrait has a great fine-art feel, while the close-up really brings the craftsmanship of the textile to life.
